City
About Elche
Elche, located in the province of Alicante, Valencian Community, is a city with a rich history and cultural heritage. With a population of 243,128 (INE 2024), it is the third most populated city in the region and the nineteenth in Spain. The city is renowned for its impressive Palmeral, a vast group of palm trees declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000.
Another of its cultural treasures is the Mystery of Elche, a sacred-lyrical drama that recreates the Dormition, Assumption, and Coronation of the Virgin Mary. This representation, of medieval origin, has been staged continuously since the 15th century and was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2001. Elche is also known for the Lady of Elche, a 5th-century BC Iberian sculpture found at the archaeological site of La Alcudia. Although the original piece is in the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid, the city houses an exact replica in the Archaeological and History Museum of Elche.

How to get to Elche from Alicante-Elche Airport?
Bus
The scheduled bus stops are located on the upper floor, in the arrivals area. The bus service between Alicante Airport and Elche is operated by Vectalia .
Aerobús lines C6, L1A y L1B connect Alicante and Elche directly to the new terminal. As this is an express service, the buses make few stops, and their tickets are more expensive than regular city buses.
The C6 urban bus line , for example, operates every day of the year, passing approximately every 20 minutes to various points in the city of Alicante, such as the Luceros and Mercado stations, and a single ticket costs €3.85.
These are the Aerobus services with a stop at the airport:
- Line C6 : Alicante – Alicante Airport / Airport – Alicante city
- Line 1A : Elche-Business Park-Alicante Airport / Alicante Airport-Business Park-Elche.
- Line 1B : Elche-Airport-Arenales del Sol / Arenales del Sol-Airport-Elche.
While line 1A departs from Elche and stops in Torrellano, the city’s industrial park, and other points in the city center before reaching the airport, line 1B departs from Elche, passes through the terminal, and terminates at the beaches of El Altet and Arenales Sol. Both operate hourly, and a single ticket costs €1.50. Services run approximately every hour, from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Train
Although there is no train station at the airport, you can take bus line C6 to Alicante and, from there, walk about 12 minutes to the Alicante train station. From this station, you can take a commuter train (line C1) to Elx Parc or Elx Carrús , depending on your destination in Elche. Elx Parc is closer to the city center and Miguel Hernández University, while Elx Carrús is in a more residential area. Despite the train stations being in different locations, they are both relatively close, about a 16-minute walk from each other. The journey takes between 30 and 40 minutes and costs approximately €2.70. Train service is available between 5:45 AM and 10:30 PM. For prices and schedules , you can visit the Renfe website .

Valona building
The venue for the III International Conference of the InTeO Group is located in the Valona Building, in zone 6.4 of the Miguel Hernández University campus in Elche, Alicante. This modern building, covering almost 5,000 square meters, integrates cultural and academic spaces. It houses the Culture Unit and the Doctoral School, and includes several exhibition halls and a film library, aimed at both the university community and the general public.
The building also offers multipurpose spaces for training and postgraduate courses, as well as for scientific outreach activities, conferences, and meetings. It also has a lecture hall for doctoral theses, located next to the Doctoral School. It also has accessible terraces, designed for both exhibitions and outdoor training. On the top floor, a dining room has been added, which will function as a catering service or restaurant.
